Meeting agenda: public hearing and first passage on General Assistance eligibility amendments. Workshop agenda: discussion of city property, Fire Department proposal for grant to hire more firefighters.

THURSDAY, Dec. 3

LEWISTON — Deadline to get an absentee ballot for Dec. 8 mayoral runoff election. City Clerk’s office will be open until 7 p.m. for residents who want to register to vote or get absentee ballots.

AUBURN — Edwardian Christmas tea, noon to 1 p.m., Auburn Public Library. Mrs. Gordon shares a 1908-styled Christmas tea, find out about holiday traditions of 1908 and what children wanted in their stockings that year.

FRIDAY, Dec. 4

LEWISTON-AUBURN — 10th anniversary of annual College Day, celebration and award luncheon, noon to 1:30 p.m., Hilton Garden Inn. Community members encouraged to wear college garb during the day at businesses, government offices and schools. Several restaurants providing free coffee to college-garbed customers, sponsored by College for ME Androscoggin. 

SATURDAY, Dec. 5

AUBURN — Annual Holiday Festival for Children, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saint Dominic Academy, 121 Gracelawn Road, sponsored by Advocates for Children. Activities include Mason clowns at 9:30 a.m.; songs by Rick Charette at 10:15 a.m.; Spark’s Ark at 11:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.; Pelletier’s Karate demo at 12:30 p.m.; plus bounce house, Santa, cake walk. Children $6, adults, $9.
