FARMINGTON — A Strong man was charged Monday with failing to report a crash by the quickest means after an accident on Knowlton Corner Road, according to police.

Police said Wesley Adams, 25, was driving a Subaru station wagon toward Chesterville when he apparently lost control on a corner near 639 Knowlton Corner Road at about 5:03 p.m. Monday.

The vehicle went over an embankment and through the woods, ruining small trees and causing the vehicle’s airbags to deploy, said Bonnie Pomeroy, Farmington Police Department secretary.

When Sgt. Eddie Hastings arrived he found the car but no driver. Items in the vehicle indicated Adams was the owner, she said.

Adams was located at a residence in Chesterville, and told police the last thing he remembered was going off the road into a soft shoulder. He could not recall other details about the accident, Pomeroy said.

He told police that he walked from the scene of the accident to the residence and that he was not hurt. Police believe speed was a factor in the accident.

Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue and NorthStar ambulance also responded to the call.
