DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are such a good source of help. Thanks so much. Can you advise me as to where I can go to get my government ID card renewed? My husband was in the Navy and I was able to get it at the Brunswick Naval Air Station, but it is now closed.

Is there still a place there to renew? Where else can it be done? I always felt the card was such a good source of identification. Now it’s only my driver’s license and, as I age, I may not have that either. Thank you for your great help.

Also, can you tell me more about Paradise Salon on Center Street in Auburn? I went and there was a sign on the door that said, “Temporarily Closed.” Do you know if it will open again because I have a gift certificate I’d hate to lose. Thanks. — No Name in Lewiston.
