PORTLAND (AP) — An international company has joined several other vendors who claim that Nova Star Cruises owes them money.

The Portland Press Herald reported (http://bit.ly/1kRoeLm ) Dubai-based company Cockett Marine Oil filed a notice Thursday in federal court claiming the ferry service owes it more than $1 million for fuel delivered from Aug. 31 to Oct. 31.

New York-based McAllister Towing and Transportation Co. also filed a notice claiming it has $12,000 in unpaid invoices for tugboat services it provided Nova Star.

The two new claimants bring the total sum of claims to about $2.6 million. Cockett Marine Oil is asking the court to order the ship be sold at an auction so it can get paid.

U.S. Marshals seized the ferry Oct. 30 because of the cruise line’s outstanding debts.
