FARMINGTON — Dine and Dance Under the Stars will be held this weekend to benefit the Western Maine Homeless Outreach’s homeless shelter.
The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at Titcomb Lodge. The evening begins with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and dancing at 8 p.m.
The meal will be provided by Calzolaio Pasta Co. of Wilton.
The shelter opened Nov. 11, 2013, in the basement of the Living Waters Assembly of God Church. Since then, several individuals have stayed there before moving on to sustainable housing.
Twelve board members, all volunteers, are committed to keeping the shelter open.
The shelter is supported by donations from the community, Rachel Jackson Hodsdon, president of the board, recently said. While much appreciated, donations can be unpredictable leaving the group to seek ways to raise funds throughout the year. Board members recently met with a consultant to make a strategic plan to move forward, she said. Volunteers are also needed.
Tickets are $20 for individuals, $35 for couples and $200 for a reserved table of 10. They are available at The Calico Patch, Madore’s Market and Redemption Center and Devaney Doak & Garrett Booksellers.
