LEWISTON — A 20-year-old Oklahoma man was behind bars Saturday afternoon in lieu of $5,000 cash bail after his arrest on charges related to an apparent shooting outside the ACME Social Club on Park Street shortly before midnight Friday.
Dashane Seamster was charged Saturday morning with felony reckless conduct with a firearm, two counts of criminal mischief and refusing to submit to arrest.
He remained at Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn on Saturday afternoon.
According to witnesses, several shots were fired outside the social club Friday night. No injuries were reported in the incident, Sgt. David Chick said.
The call came in to police at about 11:55 p.m. Friday of shots fired outside the private club. Police converged on the area and sealed off as many streets as they could while others investigated at the scene.
Police on the scene scoured nearby cars and buildings for evidence.
Several rounds struck vehicles in the area, Chick said.
Less than an hour later, police were involved in a foot chase a few blocks away. They tracked a suspect to Bartlett and Birch streets. There, after a brief chase, police took three people into custody, two women and one man.
Police said a handgun was recovered.
