UNITY — Central Maine Community College jumped out to an early double-digit lead and never looked back en route to a loopsided 87-17 victory over thethe Unity College Rams in a women’s basketball game Tuesday.

A dominant performance on the boards an a stingy half-court defense led to numerous easy baskets for the Mustangs

Nicole Hamblin scored a game-high 16 points and tacked on five rebounds and four assists to lead the charge.

Sophomore Macy Welch tallied 12 points as did freshman guard Allie Ablondi. Freshman Seve Deery-Deraps of Rangeley ripped down a game-high 12 rebounds .

The Mustangs led 24-3 after the first quarter and were never challenged.

With the win, CM improves to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in the YSCC.
