LIVERMORE — The Board of Selectpersons is accepting applications for a road foreman, after further talks with candidate Robert Bradley Jr. this week failed to change his mind.
The board had interviewed several candidates and planned to approve Bradley at Monday’s meeting. However, he withdrew his application late Monday afternoon because of the reduced salary and benefits, Administrative Assistant Carrie Castonguay said at Monday’s board meeting.
Board of Selectperson Chairman Peter Castonguay said Monday that he hoped to change Bradley’s mind, but was not able to.
“The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found,” Castonguay said Thursday.
All applications received by 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, will be reviewed by selectpersons at their meeting that evening. The board hopes to hold interviews the week of Nov. 9 and make an appointment at the Nov. 16 meeting.
The position was held by Roger Ferland, who was paid $19.48 per hour. He resigned and took a job at Bailey Bros. Ford in Livermore Falls.
