For some time now, I was leaning toward a change in the Lewiston mayoral race to favor Ben Chin. He is young and seems like he would do a great job.
But, recently, I have heard from many that he is a supporter of immigrants and would welcome more of them to Lewiston.
Can Lewiston afford that?
The city should first take care of residents in need, the elderly, the immigrants who are already here, and our future leaders — the children in the schools.
Does Lewiston want, and can it support thousands more immigrants? I don’t think so.
Before voting, people should think about that.
