PORTLAND — Gas prices in Maine have fallen 2 cents in the past week, averaging $2.23 a gallon.
The result is from Gasbuddy.com, which surveyed 1,228 gas stations in the state.
The national average fell 5.4 cents, to $2.26 a gallon.
The price in Maine was 96.8 cents less per gallon than a year ago, and 8.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average decreased 3.7 cents per gallon during the last month and is 84.5 cents lower than a year ago.
