BREWER — Sophomore striker Piper Norcross collected three goals and an assist to lead Edward Little to a 5-0 victory over Brewer in KVAC girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.
The Red Eddies (6-4-3) registered three goals in the first 15 minutes of the game with Norcross tallying the first two. Edward Little found the back of the net twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Kaylee Jipson had a fine defensive effort for Edward Little.
Goalie Mikayla Henderson made 14 saves for the Witches (8-6), while goalie Francesca Beth-Haines stopped three to earn the win in net for Edward Little.
Rangeley 4, Vinalhaven 1
RANGELEY — Senior striker Michaela Shorey garnered two goals to lead Rangeley to a 4-1 triumph over Vinalhaven in EWC girls’ soccer action Friday.
The Lakers (7-3) led 2-0 at halftime. Eighth grader Amelia McMillan scored her first varsity goal in the contest.
Ashlyn Littlefield scored the lone Vikings’ goal in the second half.
Goalie Ashlyn Davis made 10 saves for Vinalhaven, while goalie Sydney Rocye repelled two to earn the win in net for Rangeley.
Buckfield 5, Pine Tree Academy 0
FREEPORT — Julia Dow and Kali Litchfield scored two goals apiece as Buckfield cruised to a 5-0 victory over Pine Tree Academy in girls’ soccer action Friday.
The Bucks (10-3) led 4-0 at the half. Tabea Vatthauer rounded out the scoring for Buckfield.
Goalie Stephie Kaymba made 13 saves for Pine Tree Academy (2-11). Goalie Hanna Shields had three saves, including a penalty kick late stop to preserve the shutout for Buckfield.
Oxford Hills 1, Lawrence 1 (2OT)
PARIS — Kiana Letourneau scored at 34:05 in the second half to knot up the contest at 1-1 as Oxford Hills and Lawrence played to a double overtime tie in girls’ soccer action Friday.
Ally Hanley put the first point on the board with a first half direct kick goal at 20:45 for the Viikings.
Goalie Kayla Spencer made eight saves for the Bulldogs, while goalie Sam Bickford turned away nine for Oxford Hills.
Boys’ soccer
Mtn. Valley 11, Oak Hill 0
RUMFORD — Felix Andris sscored a hat trick to lead Mountain Valley to an 11-0 blanking over Oak Hill in boys soccer action Friday afternoon.
The Falcons (12-2) took a 6-0 lead at intermission. Aleski Pirttijoki and Lucasz Bukowski contributed two goals apiece for Mountain Valley.
Goalie Kam Veilleux made 13 saves for the Raiders (0-11-2), while goalie Jacob Beauchesne only needed to deflect one to earn the win in net for Mountain Valley.
Edward Little 3, Brewer 1
BREWER — Jarod Norcross Plourde scored two goals to lift Edward Little to a 3-1 victory over Brewer in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.
The Witches opened the scoring on a tally from Oisin Biswas. But, Plourde quickly answered with two goals four minutes apart for the Red Eddies.
Alex Thompson rounded out the scoring for Edward Little when his strike was redirected into the net by a Brewer defender for the two-goal advantage just prior to halftime.
Vinalhaven 3, Rangeley 2
RANGELEY — Cody Hamilton scored the eventual game-winning goal with 23:52 remaining in regulation as Vinalhaven secured a 3-2 victory over Rangeley in EWC boys’ soccer action Friday.
Lewis Cary recorded two goals for the Vikings (4-6).
Ricky Thompson earned an assist on the Lakers’ (2-7-1) second goal of the contest to bring Rangeley to within one goal late in the game. The contest was called due to darkness with 14 minutes and 18 seconds remaining in regulation.
Goalie Hunter Lowell made five saves for Rangeley, while goalie Isels Blackington prevented six for Vinalhaven in the winning effort.
