Having attended Lewiston schools from kindergarten through graduation, I want to go on record endorsing James Handy for School Committee.

Handy brings an enviable depth and breadth of experience and institutional memory to the School Committee, for which he has worked tirelessly since 1998. His reasoned approach to student education — which can become a volatile subject when opinions differ — serves to create a calming and measured atmosphere at the meetings. He has proven his dedication to Lewiston, both as a city leader and as an educational leader.

He is honest, reliable and willing to work the long hours needed for the position.

I strongly urge the citizens of Ward 4 to return Jim Handy to the Lewiston School Committee so he may continue to help guide, shape and implement the educational goals set forth thus far.
