1917 – 2015
AUBURN — Louise D. Nadeau, 98, of 20 Great Falls Plaza, Auburn, passed away Friday, Oct. 9, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice after a very brief illness.
She was born Aug. 6, 1917, in Auburn, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Demers Chaput. She was educated in local schools. She worked in local mills until her early 40s, when she moved to Pamona, Calif., and married her husband, Theodore Nadeau.
There, she worked as a crossing guard, and they returned to Maine after their retirement.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish. She was also a member of Ladies of St. Anne, Holy Cross Seniors and Auburn Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Ralph Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1992; her three sisters, Carmen Adams, Marie Lussier and Florence Smith; and four brothers, Wilfred, Maurice, Ulric and Armand; and a niece, Rachel Billings.
