LEWISTON — Joan Lunden, the popular co-host of “Good Morning America” for almost two decades and currently special correspondent for NBC’s “Today Show,” will attend this weekend’s Dempsey Challenge and make several public appearances.
Diagnosed with breast cancer last year, Lunden will lead the Survivor Walk on Saturday morning and serve as the keynote speaker at the Champions for Hope celebration for top fundraisers on Saturday evening.
After being diagnosed with cancer, Lunden resolved to educate and inspire others about breast cancer prevention, treatment and survival. She has spread the message through her video blog on JoanLunden.com and through her social media channels, and speaks nationwide about her breast cancer journey.
Lunden is an award-winning journalist, bestselling author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, mother of seven and the 2015 Amgen Breakaway From Cancer honorary champion.
