BANGOR — Community Concepts will receive nearly $800,000 to assist 30 families in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Kennebec and Oxford counties own homes.
Virginia Manuel, state director for U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, announced the agency is providing $793,800 through the Self-Help Housing Technical Assistance Grant.
The program provides grants to public or private nonprofit organizations and Indian tribes to assist in recruitment, screening, loan packaging and related activities for prospective applicants.
USDA Rural Development has provided five self-help grants to Community Concepts, investing a total of $5.04 million in quality homeownership in Maine since fiscal year 2005.
