WILTON — Town officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the former Wilton Tannery at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, to celebrate the completion and redevelopment of the site at 833 US Route 2 East.

The ceremony marks the end of the cleanup of the tannery through the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Environmental Protection, and the beginning of the development phase by the new owner, John Black of Wilson Stream Business Park, LLC.

Representatives from the EPA, DEP and Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments will attend, along with representatives for U.S. Sens. Susan Collins, Angus King and U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin.

The public is invited to attend. Tours of the outdoor site will follow and information on the property’s redevelopment will be provided.
