1949 – 2015
TOGUS — Roland J. Lauze of Lovell died Saturday, Sept. 19, at Togus.
Roland was born Dec. 27, 1949, the son of Bertrand and Yvette Lauze. Roland was educated in Lewiston. After school, he worked construction, until he joined the U.S. Army.
He went into the “land clearers” engineers unit, where he operated heavy equipment. He was severely wounded during his second tour in Vietnam and received two purple hearts. He later married and had a son.
After moving to Lovell, he became active in the community. He became an EMT for Stoneham Rescue and also a dispatcher for the Lovell Volunteer Fire Department. He also took care of the radios for the Rescue and Fire Department.
He was interested in so many different things, but mostly his tractor, which he used to help people with work they needed
done. We will miss his generosity and willingness to help others.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Constance Beaudoin; a son, Abraham; and five sisters, Marguerite Kramer, Antoinette Palmer, Bernadette Wailus, Glorianne DeFosse and Elizabeth Pelletier.
