LEWISTON — More than 40 members of the Lewiston Senior Citizens enjoyed a welcome back luncheon prepared by Sis Martel on Monday, Aug. 31. A discussion of activities for the upcoming year followed the general membership meeting. Birthday cupcakes were enjoyed in celebration of August and September birthdays.
The group’s next meeting is Monday, Oct. 5. It will host a representative from Beltone who will present on hearing loss. Sarah Krajewski, resident service coordinator for Dirigo Management, will speak about affordable housing. Information about the Thanksgiving dinner and upcoming holiday raffle will be shared. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
The group is also offering the following trips:
On Oct. 25, a tribute to John Denver at Merrill Auditorium. The price is $76 and the deadline to sign up is Sept. 24.
From Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, a White Mountain Hotel and Resort Christmas Tour. The trip includes two nights, five meals, three different Christmas shows and an Austrian sleigh ride. The price is $419 per person, double occupancy.
From May 14 to 22, 2016, a trip to Chicago. The trip includes eight nights, 14 meals, a guided tour of famous Chicago landmarks, a visit to the Willis Tower Observation Deck and the historic Navy Pier. Also a cruise on Lake Michigan, a visit to the Field Museum of Natural History, the “Magnificent Mile” and more. The price is $799 per person, double occupancy. A deposit of $75 is due upon signing up.
From June 26 to July 2, 2016, a trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto. The trip includes six nights, 10 meals and a guided tour of Niagara Falls and Toronto, a tour of Niagara-on-the-Lake and Queen Victoria Park, a journey to the falls on a Hornblower Niagara Cruise and more. The price is $649 per person, double occupancy. A deposit of $75 is due upon signing up.
From Oct. 7 to 17, 2016, a Branson Show Extravaganza trip. It includes 10 nights, 18 meals, three morning and three evening shows and a cruise on Table Rock Lake on the Showboat Branson Belle with a dinner and show. The trip also includes free time at Branson Landing for shopping and dining and a tour of historic downtown Branson. The price is $979 per person, double occupancy. A deposit of $75 is due upon signing up.
