The longest dry spell of Johnny Clark’s career as a super late model racer is over.
Clark, the six-time Pro All Stars Series North champion from Farmingdale, won the Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 300 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough for the fourth time on Sunday.
It was the first win of the season for Clark, who took the lead from Farmington’s Cassius Clark with just over 100 laps to go.
Mike Rowe of Turner was second, followed by Joey Doiron, Cassius Clark and Kelly Moore.
Jeremy Davis, Dave Farrington Jr. of Jay, Mike Hopkins, Oxford 250 winner Glen Luce of Turner and Derek Ramstrom were sixth through 10th in the 32-car field.
Other locals in the field were Scott Farrington of Minot, 14th; Reid Lanpher of Manchester, 15th; T.J. Brackett of Buckfield, 16th; Ben Rowe of Turner, 17th; Scott McDaniel of Livermore, 18th; Dennis Spencer Jr. of Oxford, 24th; Jeff Taylor of Farmington, 28th; and Travis Stearns of Auburn, 29th.
Kyle Hewins of Leeds took top honors in the Top Dog Strictly Street Shootout on Saturday night at Wiscasset Speedway.
Hewins held off Dan Brown of Peru and his brother, Kyle Hewins, to win the 40-lap event. Dave Brannon of Lisbon was fourth.
Andy Saunders clinched the Pro Stock championship with his race win. Jeff Prindall also scored a feature victory in 4-Cylinder Pro Stock action.
