1940 – 2015
SOUTH PARIS — Marilyn Cummings of South Paris and previously of Sebastian, Fla., passed away with her family by her side at Market Square Health Care on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The daughter of James and Marion (Heeks) Dorney, she was born on Dec. 1, 1940, in Providence, R.I.
Marilyn moved to Maine and in 1970, she married Millard (Buddy) Cummings Jr. Marilyn worked over the years at Market Square Health Care, Wilner Wood Products and Miller Shoe in Norway. In 1992, she and Bud moved to Vero Beach, Fla., and then to Sebastian, where they had many happy years before returning to Maine to be with their family.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Buddy, who resides at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris; daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Shane Green of South Paris; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Mariann Bonang of Oxford; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Christine Bonang of Massachusetts; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Cindy Cummings of Oxford; brother and wife, James III and Joan Dorney of Coventry, R.I.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Mildred Cummings of Oxford; brother-in-law, Frank Greene of Oxford; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special “daughter,” Koriene Low of Minot and her family.
She was predeceased by her parents; as well as a brother, Raymond Dorney; and sisters-in-law, Rita Brooks and Marilyn (Maggie) Greene.
