1925 – 2015
AUBURN — Josephine M. Duguay, 90, of Auburn passed away Friday, Sept. 11, at the Androscoggin Hospice House with her family at her side.
She was born in Massena, N.Y., on Aug. 13, 1925, the daughter of the late Peter and Hazel (Thurston) Stone. On Oct. 1, 1942, she married Joseph Duguay, who died on Oct. 17, 1993, after 50 years of marriage.
Prior to her retirement, she was self-employed as a Stanley Home Products representative for many years. She enjoyed bingo, cards, dancing in the kitchen and her family.
Josephine was a member of the former St. Louis Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Suzette Vachon of Auburn, Catherine Carney and her husband, Thomas, of Auburn, and Patricia Springer of Georgia; four sons, Francis and his wife, Lorraine, of Greene, Gerard and his wife, Linda, of Sabattus, Philip and his wife, Carmen, of Wales, and George and his wife, Cindy, of Turner; one sister, Alice Whirley of New York; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a son, Franklin Duguay, in 1944; and by four brothers.
