OLD TOWN, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police have identified a woman found dead in an Old Town apartment with her roommate.

Police identified her Friday as 54-year-old Darlene Gross based on DNA work conducted by the state police crime lab. Also found dead in the apartment on Monday was 33-year-old Mark Savage Jr.

The bodies were discovered by Old Town police who’d gone to the apartment Monday evening for a welfare check.

Steve McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety said Friday that the deaths were being investigated as a possible drug overdoses.
