LEWISTON — Heaven had an opening, so the angels escorted Paul Stephen Roderick, 64, of Lewiston to heaven to fill that empty space on Sunday, Sept. 6.
Born on Oct. 14, 1950, to Rosario and Laurianne Berube Roderick, Paul began a life of adventure and a love of his country.
Paul was a kind man with a huge heart and his generosity was endless. He served in the U.S. armed forces, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam and receiving the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Letter V Device, Vietnam Service Medal, Silver Attachment and many more medals of distinction. His loyalty and love of his country, family and friends was never-ending.
Paul had a passion for the water, including boating, water-skiing and scuba-diving. He spent countless hours with his brother, sharing special moments only brothers understand. Leaving this world so quickly and unexpectedly, he leaves a void no one will be able to fill in so many lives.
Survivors include a son, Ryan; a sister, Mary Roderick Watson; a brother, Mark and his wife, Linda; his brother and best friend, Dennis and his wife, Carlene, of Lewiston; and nieces and nephews, Lucille, Candice, Gerald, Warren, Katie and Ross.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents; his paternal grandparent; parents; and brothers, Michael and Patrick.
He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him as he joins his loved ones in heaven.
