WESTBROOK — Leavitt erupted for three unanswered touchdowns in the second half and held off a late Westbrook rally to win its Class B South debut, 22-21.

The Hornets failed to score on two visits inside the Westbrook 20 and trailed 7-0 at the break.

Then quarterback Levi Craig exploded, first hitting Hunter Sirois on a 40-yard screen to set up his own TD run. Craig found D’Andre James for the two-point conversion and an 8-7 lead.

Craig connected with Max Green from 53 yards. The two also produced the PAT and a 16-7 edge at the end of three.

Julian Kirouac caught Craig’s second TD pass, a 41-yard strike. Craig was 14-for-27 for 276 yards after completing only four in the first half.

Westbrook scored on a 50-yard TD pass with 4:30 left. Leavitt denied the conversion to keep it at a two-score game, which was significant after the Blue Blazes recovered a fumble and scored again.
