WILTON — At Tuesday’s select board meeting, Town Manager Rhonda Irish shared information about several upcoming meetings or events.

The committee working to write a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant for replacement of a retaining wall at the swimming area of Kineowatha Park will meet at the park 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. Irish said the public is invited to attend, especially if they want to help write part of the grant.

Household hazardous waste collection at the transfer station will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.

There will be a public hearing in regards to junkyard permit renewals 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15. The meeting will be held at the Town Office prior to the regularly scheduled select board meeting.

There will be a meeting at the Farmington Community Center 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. Anyone with concerns relating to their Beeline Cable service is encouraged to attend. This is a joint meeting for customers in the towns of Farmington and Wilton.

To finish the Kineowatha Park Forest Ecosystem Management Plan, a meeting will be scheduled with forester Peter Tracy, who designed the plan, select board members and the town’s Recreation Committee. Irish said a public hearing will need to be held because a Project Canopy grant helped fund the plan. A tentative date of Sept. 30 at Kineowatha Park has been set.

On Friday, Oct. 2, there will be an open house at the Wilton Tannery with the time to be announced. Irish said Sen. Susan Collins, Sen. Angus King and other officials are being invited.
