LIVERMORE FALLS — Regional School Unit 73 Superintendent Kenneth Healey said he will appoint a six-member subcommittee to screen and interview applicants for district business manager.

“This is a really important position,” he said.

Healey will appoint two staff members, two teachers and two board members to the subcommittee.

Business Manager Stacie Field, who has served since 2011 and in School Administrative District 36 before that, is taking the same position in RSU 16 in Poland.

In other matters at Thursday night’s board meeting, it was announced that two $1,000 scholarships have been provided by Marcia and Louis Brown for students attending a two- or four-year college. Applications may be picked up at the Central Office in Livermore Falls and must be returned there by Sept. 22.

The board overwhelmingly approved continued use of the locker rooms at the former Livermore Falls High School by students after football practice at Griffin Field. The traditional dinners for players served by parents Thursdays prior to games also may continue in the school’s cafeteria.

Sports Boosters’ fundraising suppers, however, will be held at the Spruce Mountain High School cafeteria in Jay.

The approvals are good for as long as the district owns the Livermore Falls High School.

It was closed soon after the Jay School Department and RSU 36 consolidated into RSU 73.

In other matters, the following were appointed for the 2015-16 school year: Donna Labbe, districtwide professional growth and staff development chairwoman; Erica Grimaldi, Spruce Mountain Middle School science teacher; and Christian Boileau, Spruce Mountain Middle School athletic director.

Healey said all positions have been filled.
