LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced activities planned for the remainder of September.

The center will be closed on Friday, Sept. 4, and Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day weekend.

The writing workshop will meet at 10 a.m. Mondays starting Sept. 14. The Trauma Empowerment Support will group meet at 3 p.m. Mondays. A Women for Sobriety group will meet weekly from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, followed by Al-Anon at 5:30.

A What’s Cooking class on zucchini and pumpkin breads will be held Wednesday morning, Sept. 2. A second What’s Cooking class will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, featuring harvest salads. Women are invited to help bake and have lunch.

A highlight in September will be the return of Peasant Pantry. The center will prepare the meal on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to be served on Thursday, Sept. 10. Each month a one-pot sustainable meal from a country is featured. This month it is Ratatouille, a French dish of stewed veggies. The meal is open to the public and donations are asked.

The monthly clothing give-away will be held all day Thursday, Sept. 24. The regular end-of-month programs include bingo at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, and a Reiki session available by sign-up at 1 p.m. The Art Van will visit at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, followed by the September birthday celebration at 12:30.

The center’s fall hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays, effective Sept. 11. The center will be closed Friday, Sept. 4.
