1930 – 2015
PORTLAND — Rejeanne L. Gauvin, 85, a resident of Elm Street, Jay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Saint-Pamphile, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Alfred Jean and Hermine (Dumais) Jean. She attended school in Canada. On Sept. 15, 1948, in Canada, she married her husband of 63 years, Armand J. Gauvin. He passed away Oct. 4, 2011.
Rejeanne had worked at Livermore Shoe and Parkview Nursing Home. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.
Rejeanne was devoted to her family and always looked forward to gatherings with her family and friends, along with time spent visiting in Canada and summering in Old Orchard Beach.
She is survived by her children, Marielle Gauvin and her companion, Robert Lanthier, of Montreal, Quebec; Lynn Fournier and her husband, Lionel, of Jay; Lili Adams and her husband, Bill, of Jay; Yvan Gauvin and his wife, Brenda, of Lewiston; and Yoland Gauvin and his wife, Cindy, of Jay; Frances Savage of Saco; Chantal Jacques and her husband, James, of Jay; Paula Deshaies and her husband, Dan, of Old Orchard Beach; her sisters, Marie Paul Moreau, Jacqueline Moreau and Ghislaine Bourgault of Canada; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Armand Gauvin; her son, Coco Gauvin; her daughter, Diane Bourgault; and son-in-law, Marcel Bourgault.
