1932 – 2015

GULFPORT, Fla. — Eva Maria Randall, 83, of Gulfport, Fla., and Surry, died on Monday, Aug. 17, surrounded by family.

Eva was born in Köln, Germany, and was the daughter of Eberhard Priemer and Grete Breisig Priemer. As a young adult and accomplished figure skater, Eva traveled the world, skating for “Holiday on Ice.” She married Leonard Randall of Graham, Texas, in 1956.

During the early 1960s, she worked for the Hollywood movie industry in Germany on various movie projects, including “One, Two, Three,” “Freud” and “The Great Escape,” starring Steve McQueen, during which she worked as McQueen’s private secretary.

In 1966, she moved with her family to Ellsworth, where she and her husband opened a photography and print business. After her husband’s death in the early 1970s, Eva sold the family business and worked as the bookkeeper/housekeeper at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellsworth for the Rev. Conrad L’Heureux. Her bookkeeping work took her to the Yarmouth parish, and later to the Auburn parish, where she retired in 1990.

Eva maintained a residence in Gulfport, Fla., and summer residence in Surry. She enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with her friends, playing bridge, needlework, reading, crossword puzzles and traveling. Eva volunteered at St Joseph’s in Ellsworth and Most Holy Name of Jesus Church in Gulfport.

Eva is predeceased by her husband, Leonard; her son, Michael; and her grandchild, Cameron.

She is survived by her daughter, Carole of Halfmoon, N.Y.; and her husband, Kelly Hinckley; and son, Mark Randall of Falmouth and his wife, Shannon; grandchildren, Nicole Rose, Christopher Hinckley, Ryan Hinckley, Nicholas Randall and Ninaka Randall; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Timaure, Jason Hinckley and Conner Hinckley. She is also survived by two brothers, Hans-Eugen Priemer and Dr. Wolfgang Priemer.
