1949 – 2015
AUBURN — Philip C. “Dusty” Roberts, 65, of Dixfield died Friday, Aug. 14, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born in North Conway, N.H., on Sept. 16, 1949, the son of Harry and June (Quincy) Roberts Sr., and attended schools in Fryeburg and Beverly, Mass.
Phil worked as an hourly worker at the Rumford Paper Mill and on the clothespin line at Diamond International in Dixfield.
Phil was married in West Peru on June 29, 1974, to the former Wanda J. Hodge, who died May 11, 1999.
He was a former member and past king lion of the Dixfield Lions Club and a very active member of the Dixfield Congregational Church. He loved to cook and was always entertaining family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, and loved a good joke. He loved spending time with his family and especially attending family reunions. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Sara Jane Roberts of Mexico; grandchildren, Stephen Hassett, Abigayle Marston and Kali Korhonen of Mexico; sisters, Carolyn Libby and husband, Jeff, of Somersworth, N.H., and Aloha Kelley and husband, Alex, of Glen, N.H.; brothers, Roger Roberts and wife, Carol, Harry Roberts Jr., and Jeff Roberts and wife, Sue, all of Lovell, and Ike Roberts and wife, Ruth, of North Fryeburg; a son-in-law, Dale “Sonny Boy” Korhonen Sr. of Mexico and his children, Damen of Canton, Kayla of Mexico and Dale Korhonen Jr. of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Wanda; and son, Adam.
