1932 – 2015

LEWISTON — Roland W. Poulin, 83, a resident of Leeds, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

He was born in Jackman on Feb. 24, 1932, the son of Ephrem and Adelia Rodrigue Poulin. Roland received his education in the Jackman schools and graduated from Jackman High School in 1951. He served with the U.S. Army as a paratrooper from 1952 to 1954. On July 14, 1956, he married Fanny L. Stroud in Jackman.

Roland was employed by New England Telephone Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1989. He attended St. Francis Xavier Church in Winthrop and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the American Legion. Roland enjoyed traveling, woodworking and gardening.

Roland is survived by his wife, Fanny Poulin of Leeds; his six children and their spouses, David and Karen Poulin of Union, Richard Poulin of Pittsfield, James Poulin of South Mills, N.C., Diane Poulin of Livermore, Carol Wilmoth of Greensboro, N.C., and Linda and Mark Patschke of Rolesville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jackie Desrochers of Plainfield, Conn.
