HARRISON — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said a local man was killed Monday evening when his speeding car crashed on the Harrison Road.

Kenneth K. Bryant, 31, was ejected from the vehicle, which witnesses said struck a guardrail and flipped 10 to 12 times, according to the department news release. A member of the Harrison Fire Department found Bryant deceased.

Bryant was traveling alone and not wearing a seat belt. He also had a suspended license, according to the department’s statement.

The news release said deputies were responding to an emergency in Harrison at around 6:50 p.m. and met a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction at 92 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. The deputies continued to the first call they had been assigned to and moments later were informed of a single-vehicle accident. They discovered the car was the same one observed speeding moments before.
