1966 – 2015
AUBURN — Anne Marie Y. Parent, 49, of Sabattus passed away Wednesday, August 5, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn, following a courageous 11-year battle with cancer.
Born in Lewiston on April 30, 1966, she was the daughter of Donald and Rita Boisvert Martin. She was educated locally and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1984. She was very proud of receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute, while raising her two children on her own and undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
As a registered nurse, she worked in several local hospitals and nursing homes, as well as private-duty nursing.
Anne enjoyed NASCAR, the Red Sox, the Patriots, knitting and arts and crafts. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish.
Survivors include her father, Donald L. Martin of Lewiston; a son, Nicholas Parent of Poland Springs; a daughter, Kayla Parent of Brunswick; a stepson, Jason Parent and his wife, Sarah, and his daughters, Serenity and Shyann; two brothers, Joseph Martin and companion, Tia, of Lewiston, and Raymond Martin and wife, Kim, of Augusta; three sisters, Diane Charpentier and husband, Charles, of Rochester, N.H., Denise Martin and partner, Cindy Varrell, of Poland Springs, and Irene Peaslee and husband, Hunter, of Somerville; Anne’s companion, Steve Marquis and daughter, Sierra; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Rita Martin, in 2009.
