1928 – 2015
AUBURN — Harold A. Parsons, 87, of Minot died Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Clover Manor Health Care with his family by his side.
Born in Auburn on June 22, 1928, he was a son of the late Howard and Ruth Boothbay. Harold was a member of the Frances Lodge of West Minot and Excelsior Grange and worked his way to state office in the State-Subenate Pomono.
He worked with 4-H Little League Baseball and farmed in New Gloucester and New York, then drove trucks for a number of trucking companies. He last worked driving trucks for Good Shepherd Food-Bank.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mildred R. Ray of Minot, whom he married June 15, 1946; his daughter, Sandra Eaton of Mechanic Falls; two sons, Howard Lee and wife, Nancy, of Virginia, and Kenneth of Auburn; five grandchildren, James Eaton of Massachusetts, Philip Parsons of New York, Marie Parsons of New York, Stephanie Parsons of Scarborough, and Stacy Major of Hebron; six great-grandchildren; his first expected great-great-grandchild; and his brother, Richard E. and wife, Elaine Parsons, of Massachusetts.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Clover Manor Health Care and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for going out of their way to make Harold comfortable in his last days.
