1929 – 2015
LEWISTON — Roger Rodrigue, 85, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 29, at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 16, 1929, the son of Paul and Fernande (Lacasse) Rodrigue. He attended local schools and served his country in the U.S. Army. After leaving the military, he met Edwina Gorneau and together they shared many good years. Roger worked as a hand sewer for Bellmonc Shoe and also at Soule Glass.
Roger loved to ride horses and play cards but one of his favorite events was the yearly camping trip to Tacoma Lake for the summer. Spending time with their children, grandchildren, friends and family were very important to Roger.
He is survived by his wife, Edwina; two daughters, Darlene and her husband, William Roy, and Brenda Russell; grandchildren, Tammy and Gene Marsella, James and Stephanie Roy, Kim and Dave Saldana, Scott and Tina Russell, Bill and Rena Roy, Deanna Roy, Victor and Kathy Madore; great-grandchildren, Roland Gendreau, Shonah Russell, Halie Saldana, Cassidy Saldana, Jaydon Roy, Emilio Marsella, Dario Marsella, Jaxson Roy, Sandra and Ryan Marshall and Ryan Stockburger; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a son-in-law, Greg Russell; and sister-in-law, Pauline Rodrigue.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice as well as Todd for the wonderful care provided to their father.
