Get on Board lessons offered
LEWISTON — Rye Airfield Skateboard Park, located in Rye, N.H., is bringing their mobile park to the National Night Out from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.
The “Get on Board skateboarding lessons and demonstrations are sponsored by the Lewiston/Auburn Optimist Club.
Lifetree holding faith, science workshop
LEWISTON — The relationship between faith and science will be discussed at Lifetree Cafe at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at 1919 Lisbon Road.
The program, titled “Faith and Science: Discoveries from the Scientist who led the Human Genome Project,” features a filmed interview with Dr. Francis Collins, a world-renowned geneticist noted for his leadership in directing the human genome project.
The hour-long program is free of charge. Snacks and beverages are available.

Hunger Coalition to hold free picnic
GREENE — The Hunger Coalition of Greene, Leeds and Turner will sponsor a free community picnic from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.
Hot dogs, french fries and dessert will be available. Those attending are also welcome to bring their own food. The picnic will be held at the Greene Sports Field. There will be information, entertainment and games. The event will be rain or shine.

Masonic Lodge to hold supper
DURHAM — The Masonic Lodge will hold a bean supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 663 Royalsborough Road. The cost is $7.50 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children younger than 5. Baked beans, chop suey, hot dogs, potato salad and coleslaw will be served.
