PORTLAND — Muriel A. Breton, 87, of 211 Randall Road, Lewiston, died Saturday, July 18, at the Cedars Retirement Home in Portland.
Born in Lewiston on May 15, 1928, she was the daughter of Antonio A. and Eva Rivard Breton. She was educated at St. Peter’s School, was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’47, and attended Burdette College. She worked at the Cushman Shoe Company and later transferred to Crest Shoe, where she worked as assistant treasurer until her retirement in 1989. Muriel enjoyed the opera, professional golf, playing cards, collecting coins and visiting with family and friends. For many years, she spent two weeks each summer vacationing on the coast of southern Maine with her close friends. She was a selfless individual who was devoted to making others happy. A treasured aunt, devoted daughter, thoughtful sister and loyal friend, she always put the needs of others ahead of her own and will be remembered for her generosity and her witty sense of humor. Her passing brings great sadness to all.
