AUBURN — A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. arrived Sunday to examine all aspects of the Lewiston-Auburn 911 Emergency Communications System’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, according to a news release from Director Phyllis Gamache.
Verification by the team that Lewiston-Auburn 911 meets the commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, which is a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence, she said.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments by telephone. The public may call 207-754-3816 or 207-754-3901 on Monday, July 20, between 1 and 4 p.m.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.
