Joey Doiron of Berwick dominated the Pro All Stars Series portion of the International 500 at Airborne Raceway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., leading 149 of 200 laps en route to the win Sunday afternoon.

The race ended just in time for Doiron, who had a left front tire going down on the final lap. He held off Brian Hoar, who overtook Patrick Laperle for second late in the run.

Brent Dragon was fourth, followed by Jeremy Davis. Doiron took the lead from Dragon for the final time on lap 111. He won $11,225 for his efforts.

Glen Luce and Mike Rowe of Turner, Bobby Therrien, Travis Benjamin and Ben Rowe rounded out the top 10 in the 19-car field.

Nick Sweet out-dueled Alex Labbe and Wayne Helliwell Jr. over the final 10 laps to win the American-Canadian Tour 200.

Bubar brushes off Lanpher at Beech Ridge

Corey Bubar dismissed a late-race bid from Reid Lanpher to win the NASCAR Pro Series feature Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough.

Lanpher continued his charge at the championship with a runner-up result, while Robbie Harrison took home third.

Brandon Barker won his third consecutive Sport Series race and expanded his division point lead. Mike St. Pierre snagged second ahead of Reggie Leeman.

Adam Lovejoy aced the Wildcat test with Cole Watson and Jon Brill second and third, respectively.

Another win for St. Clair family at Wiscasset

Josh St. Clair showed the way in the 45-lap Late Model Sportsman main event at Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday night. Steve Minott and Will Collins rounded out the podium positions, with Nick Hinkley and Chuck Colby completing the top five.

Shawn Kimball warded off a stern challenge from Jimmy Childs of Leeds to win the Outlaw Mini checkers. Cody Tribbet claimed third with Brent Roy and Mike Bolduc in tow.

Mark Lucas scored another Modified win, although it was considered unofficial early Sunday, pending an engine inspection. Steve Reno was second, with Kevin Douglass third, Ron Bryant of Livermore fourth and track owner Richard Jordan of Kingfield fifth.

Bryan Robbins broke up the recent domination by the Hewins family of Leeds with his Strictly Street victory. Dan Brown of Peru was runner-up, with Kurt Hewins third and younger brother Kyle Hewins fourth. Turner’s Skip Tripp rounded out the top five.

Mike Mason won a 100-lap Enduro event to complete the program. Craig Landry was second, Dylan Lancaster third, Kamren Knowles fourth and Scott Eck of Lisbon fifth.

St. Germain stops Lizotte’s Figure 8 streak at OPS

Oxford Plains Speedway championship series racing took a vacation this week in deference to the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend in New Hampshire and International 500, but the entry-level divisions saw plenty of action at the track.

Saturday’s Motor Mayhem capped the festivities. Josh Knoll of Mechanic Falls was awarded the win in a 25-lap Enduro when the apparent top two finishers failed post-race inspection. Mike St. Germain moved up the ladder to second, followed by Kurt Whiting, Billy McIntyre and William Barker.

It was a huge night for Auburn’s St. Germain, who broke up Jon Lizotte’s perfect season in the resurrected Figure Eight division. A season-high eight cars were in the field, including one of Lizotte’s fellow kings of the “Crunch Bunch,” David Smith, who came out of retirement for the event.

Eric Hodgkins and Geoff Low were second and third to keep Lizotte off the podium completely. Lizotte edged Allen Higgins for fourth.

Gerry McKenna made a last-lap pass to win the Sport Truck sprint over Dan Vachon. Corey Williams was third, followed by Mark Grantham and Herb Farrar.

Shawn Hinkley led the Runnin’ Rebel feature from start to finish, but not without a challenge from Matt Mahar in second, Calvin Rose Jr. in third, Cam Childs fourth and Nate Dubuc fifth.

Michael Haynes warded off Matt Dufault’s drive from deep in the field to win the Outlaw feature. Steve Moon stood third in frontt of Andy King and George Haskell.

Rick Thompson collected the Cruiser win. Knoll settled for second in his bid for multiple victories on the night, while John Childs ran third with Mikel Martin and Dale Clark in his tire tracks.

Maggie Ferland was the Ladies’ winner of Shelby Shurtleff and Shelby Lawrence. Carleigh Vaughn and Sue Veinott were fourth and fifth.

In other Mayhem action, Jason LaValley won the Flagpole race, Mark Pennell topped Spectator Drags, Billy Dixon was declared winner of the Smoky Donut Show, and Gerald Parlin prevailed in a truck tug o’ war.
