Pastime completed a comeback a week in the making Friday night, handing Bessey Motors its first loss of the American Legion baseball season.
Brock Belanger came around to score in the bottom of the 12th inning on a Caleb Dostie double to lift Pastime to a 9-8 win over Bessey. With the win, Pastime improves to 12-4.
Last Thursday, the Lewiston-based club’s game with Bessey was halted after the seventh inning because of darkness with the teams knotted at seven.
Bessey Motors had jumped out to a 7-0 lead through four and a half innings, but Pastime stormed back with two in the fifth and three in the sixth. Bessey added one run in the seventh, but Pastime added two in the bottom of the inning to tie the game.
The two teams resumed the game Friday night in the top of the eighth.
Brady Lafrance, Nick Attaliades-Ryan and Nick Bowie each had a double for Bessey Motors (15-1). Riley Chickering belted out a home run in the losing effort.
Pastime finishes the regular season with a doubleheader with Gardiner on Saturday at Oak Hill in Wales, while Bessey Motors plays two against Rogers Post 153 of Auburn.
