FARMINGTON — A Mt. Blue Middle School student suspended three days before school closed for the year, will be required to serve the remaining seven days and an additional 23 days when classes resume.

Regional School Unit 9 directors held an expulsion hearing Tuesday for one of two eighth-graders accused of distributing marijuana on school property June 11. The second hearing will be held in August.

The decision followed a more than 45-minute executive session.

An individual education program plan will be developed for for the student.

Each juvenile was charged by Farmington police on one count of aggravated furnishing of a schedule Z drug. The charge was aggravated because the incident took place on school property, Farmington Deputy Police Chief Shane Cote previously said.
