OXFORD — Evelyn F. “Alice” Greenleaf, 80, of Oxford went home to the tender care of her God and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 30. She passed away at her home with her family’s love surrounding her.
She was born in Cranston, R.I., on Nov. 26, 1934, one of 11 children of Byron and Evelyn (Williams) Lawton, and attended Cranston schools.
On Sept. 20, 1951, she married her true love and husband of 63 years, John B. Greenleaf.
Her life was her family. She was the best mom and the most loving and hospitable woman in the world. She enjoyed tomatoes, square dancing, gardening, cooking, quilting, bowling, “gallivanting,” and of course, “the farm.”
She is survived by her husband of Oxford; two sons, Stevan E. Greenleaf and his wife, Denise, of Kittery, and Ronald B. Greenleaf and his wife, Kathy, of North Scituate, R.I.; two daughters, Diane G. Fitzgibbons and her husband, Paul, of Oxford, and Denise Greenleaf Bourne and her husband, Robert A. Bourne, of Warwick, R.I.; two sisters, Lillian Fuller of Warwick, R.I., and Virginia Hips of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
