BIDDEFORD — Graveside committal prayers honoring the life of Cyprien L. Martel Jr., MD, who died Monday, March 2, were held Friday, June 26, at St. Mary’s Cemetery with Deacon Robert Parenteau of the Good Shepherd Parish presiding.

During the service, Dr. Martel’s granddaughter, Megan, played “Ashokan Farewell” on her flute.

At the conclusion of services, the United States Army Honor Detail played taps, folded our country’s flag and presented it to Dr. Martel’s wife, Gertrude, in recognition of her husband’s service to his country during World War II.
