NEW GLOUCESTER — Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village presents “Engaging the Spirit of Shaker Music” at 7 p.m. Friday, June 26, in the Shakers’ Historic 1794 Meeting House.

Under the direction of Chris Moore of 317 Main Community Music Center, singers will perform the musical and spiritual adaptation of Shaker songs and other deep-rooted American folk music traditions through original, contemporary compositions.

The concert also features traditional and contemporary folk songs and instrumentals performed on mandolin and guitar by Maine folk musicians Matt Shipman, Ted DeMille and Chris Moore.

Experience the sound of a simpler time: an acoustic style of American music with 19th century traditional American roots and influences.

Tickets are $20 in advance at www.maineshakers.com or call 926-4597. Shaker Village is located on Route 26 (707 Shaker Road). FMI: usshakers@aol.com or Facebook: Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village.
