FRANKLIN COUNTY — The following is the Franklin County Sheriff’s report for the week of June 13-19:

6/13/2015: Deputy Brann responded to Avon Valley Road in Avon regarding a request from a complainant who wanted a man removed from her home. Upon arrival it appears that although she wanted the man removed, she had neglected to ask him first before calling the police. She admitted she had smoked marijuana with the man. However, he was out of marijuana so she wanted him out.

6/13/2015: Deputy Bernhardt responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Dutch Gap Road in Chesterville. The deer died at the scene. There was no damage to the car.

6/13/2015: Deputy Bernhardt responded to a two vehicle crash on Route 2 in front of Sandy River Farm Supply in New Sharon. It appeared to minor damage to both vehicles with no injuries involved.

6/13/2015: Deputy Brann & Deputy Zecher responded to a report of a vehicle being driven all “over the road”, after receiving that report, a second call came in saying that vehicle was involved in an accident on Cape Cod Hill Road in New Sharon.

Upon arrival witness told Brann that the driver was highly intoxicated. Investigation revealed that the driver, Rodney Savage (60) of Anson was intoxicated and the reason he was driving was because he was en route to pick up a passenger to transport to a methadone clinic. The time of the accident was 5 a.m. Mr. Savage was arrested for OUI.

6/14/2015: Deputy Brann responded to Fish Hatchery Road in Salem regarding another loud party complaint.

6/14/2015: Deputy Zecher responded to a report of a suspicious couple at Sarampus Falls in Alder Stream Township. It was reported a Canadian couple stopped in the rest area there and starting talking with various children who were at the falls. The complainant stated that the couple had an empty car seat in the rear of their vehicle. This bothered the complainant to the point where he took his grandchild and left the area to report it.

The male and female couple had been traveling north. The event actually took place Saturday afternoon but was not called in until Sunday. Deputy Zecher contacted Canadian authorities about the couple and identified them. The investigation continues.

6/14/2015: Deputy Brann responded to Dowd Road in Eustis for an alarm. All was secure.

6/14/2015 Deputy Bernhardt responded to a 911 hang up complaint on Stratton Road in Dallas Plantation It appears that a 15 month old child was playing with the phone.

6/14/2015: Corporal Chase, Deputy Bernhardt and Deputy Burke responded to 531 Mile Hill Rd. in New Sharon regarding a report of a disturbance at the residence there.

Upon arrival they found six very intoxicated adults who were uncooperative and belligerent towards the Deputies. There was an indication of a possible domestic assault however the victim (who was also uncooperative) refused to talk to the officers. All parties there were given a disorderly conduct warning when one of them, Sheri Schiche (54) continued to be verbally abusive towards the officers.

She was placed under arrest by Chase whereupon she kicked Chase and resisted arrest. At that time Frank Hall (44) decided to enter the fray and assaulted Bernhardt who immediately arrested Hall.

Hall was arrested for Disorderly Conduct class E, Refusing to submit to arrest class D and Obstructing Government Administration class D. Schiche was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Class E, Refusing to submit to arrest class D, and Assault class D.

6/16/2015: Deputy Bernhardt arrested Roger Bailey of Jay on a warrant after he turned himself in.

6/17/2015: Deputy Burke responded to a call for a fire at a residence located on the Rangeley Road in Avon. Burke discovered that there was no fire and the caller was transported to FMH for a psychological evaluation.

6/17/2015: Deputy Bernhardt and Trooper Hardy conducted a bail check on Dutch Gap Road in Chesterville. As a result of the check, the bailed person was summonsed for VCR.

6/17/2015: Deputy Hartley arrested Halstead Burhoe (67) of Canton after assisting Jay police with a large disturbance located at 224 East Dixfield Rd. A crew had been contracted by the Town of Jay to clean up the property there per a court order. Several men arrived and refused to allow the workers to do their job. Mr. Burhoe being one of them refused to leave the area when ordered to and attempted to gain access into the work area whereupon he was arrested for Disorderly conduct. Once Burhoe was taken into custody, the other men decided to leave.

6/17/2015: Deputy Burke received a complaint that a white “jacked up” pickup truck was squealing its tires on Main Street in Kingfield at midnight. The complainant states this truck and driver do this on a regular basis. The truck was gone upon Burkes arrival.

6/18/2015: Deputy Hartley, Chief Lowell, Lt. ST. Laurent and several other deputies responded to the East Madrid road in Madrid for a report of a domestic disturbance. The caller stated they could not identify where the screaming as coming from but could clearly hear it from the residence. Seven deputies made contact with every residence in the area and did not find anything out of the ordinary.

6/19/2015: Deputy Hartley investigated a report of a gas drive off complaint at Anni’s Market in Kingfield.

6/19/2015: Deputy Hartley and Morgan assisted a Hart truck driver when he drove his tractor trailer into the ditch south of Kingfield. Deputies assisted in transferring the Poland Spring water from the disabled truck to another truck.

6/19/2015: Deputy Morgan, Chief Lowell and Lt. St. Laurent investigated a report of a body in a bag on Parlin Road in Phillips. The “body” was the remains of a dog wrapped up in some old clothing.

Deputies conducted six Elder Checks during this period. Deputies conducted 65 building checks during this reporting period. All were secure.
