AUGUSTA — While Gov. Paul LePage continues to veto dozens of bills, he’s also letting a handful go into law without his signature.

A spokeswoman for LePage said that seven bills became law Monday because the Republican governor didn’t take action on them.

Among them is a bill to allow an adult to transfer their antlerless deer permit to a junior hunting license holder, under certain circumstances. Most of the new laws will go into effect 90 days after the end of the legislative session.

LePage vetoed 21 bills on Friday. He nixed several of them because they were introduced by Democrats. He says he will continue vetoing Democratic bills because they have “stifled the voice of the Maine people” by not letting them vote on the elimination of the income tax.
