PARKMAN — Maine police say they are still in the midst of a manhunt for a fugitive who is a suspect in the killing of his ex-girlfriend.

Police say 38-year-old Robert Burton has not been spotted since he was seen along a Guilford snowmobile trail on Wednesday night. They say Massachusetts and New Hampshire state police who were aiding Maine police, game wardens and other agencies in looking for Burton have left the area.

Burton is a suspect in the killing of Stephanie Gebo, who was found in her Parkman home June 5 by her children.

Police have been focusing their search in the Monson, Guilford and Parkman area. Burton is familiar with the woods in the region. He is considered armed and dangerous. Police say an update is coming later Monday.
