POLAND — Amos Herrin went the distance for Farmington in Game 1 of their doubleheader against Tri-Town in a 6-1 victory. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out 12.
He was perfect into the fourth until he let a Billy Bickford triple to lead of the inning. An Ethan Cailler sac fly drove in Bickford.
Ryan Pratt led the Farmington offense with a double and a triple. Farmington scored once in the first, twice in the second and three times in the sixth.
Tri-Town 1, Farmington 0
POLAND — Billy Bickford’s single in the bottom of the first scored Kaleb Bridgham for the only run of the game a Tri-Town earned a split with Farmington.
Bridgham got on base with a single of his own and stole second.
Farmington’s (1-1 best chance to tie the game came in the top of the fourth with an Amos Herrin single, but Jake Davenport was cut down at the plate with a perfect relay started from right field.
Shawn Murphy picked up the win on the mound for Tri-Town (1-1).
Bessey Motors 5, Bethel 4
PARIS — Brady LaFrance had a pair of hits in Bessey Motors 5-4 victory over Bethel in Legion Baseball action.
Bailey West picked up the victory as he went five innings and had 11 strikeouts. Nick Bowie came across the plate three times. Emery Chickering and Matt Smith each had an RBI single in the second.
Anthony Todd had a double for Bethel.
Bessey Motors 8, Bethel 2
PARIS — Riley Chickering had 14 strikeouts in a complete game effort as Bessey Motors came away with the 8-2 victory over Bethel in Legion action.
Bailey West had two RBIs in the victory while Jake Spinhirn scored three times for Bessey Motors (2-0).
Anthony Todd had a triple, a double, an RBI and one run scored in the losing effort for Bethel (0-2).
Pastime 7, Smith-Tobey 0
LEWISTON — Carter Chabot had a two-run single in the third inning as Pastime was victorious, 7-0 over Smith Tobey in Legion action. Kyle Bourget had a two run single of his own in the fourth inning.
Mike Wong had three hits and Brock Belanger had a pair of singles.
Kyle Bourget picked up the victory going five innings and Wong came in relief as the duo only allowed one hit.
Pastime 6, Smith-Tobey 5
LEWISTON — A Brady Cusson single scored Hunter Landry from second base with the winning run as Pastime walked off with a 6-5 victory over Smith-Tobey.
Kyle Bourget started the inning with a double and Carter Chabot drove him in to tie the game.
Mike Wong also had a double in the victory as Pastime starts the season 2-0.
Grant Heffler had two hits for Smith Tobey (0-2) along with Darren Wood and Colin Ranta.
