1929 – 2015

AUBURN — Laurent Gustav Dupuis, 85, of Lewiston passed away peacefully with his son and daughter at his side on Saturday, June 13.

He was born in Saint-Ludger, Quebec, Canada, on July 8, 1929, the son of Olivine and Victor Dupuis. He said the best thing he ever did was marry Evelyne Poulin on July 9, 1955. They started their life together on his family farm homestead.

In 1963, they moved to Lewiston and joined family to build homes in the Lewiston area. He enjoyed building and designing homes, but especially listening to the ideas people had and incorporating them into the plan. He taught many people the carpentry trade.

He was a faithful Christian and member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and Prince of Peace Parish.

He is survived by his son, Renaud Dupuis his wife, Deborah, and their children, Hunter and Connor; his daughter, Patty Frechette and her husband, David, and their children, Jozef, Allison and Samuel; his son, Jean Dupuis and his children, Adam, Alec, Jacob and Jaime; his daughter, Pauline and her children, Luc, John, Abbie and Abram; sister-in law, Rita Dupuis; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyne; his infant son, Yvan Dupuis; 11 sisters, Bernadette, Blanche, Fernande, Eva, Adele, Denise, Armande, Marie-Anna, Rose-Anna, Laura and Alfreda; and two brothers, Roland and Joseph.
