Otisfield to host community lunch, ‘stuff swap’

OTISFIELD — Otisfield will host a community lunch and ‘stuff swap’ from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Community Hall on Route 121.

There will be soup, sandwiches, salad and dessert.

Those attending are encouraged to bring an item no larger than a bread box that they no longer want and are willing to swap.

The event is free; donations accepted.

NORWAY/FRYEBURG — SeniorsPlus will visit Norway and Fryeburg to address questions and concerns of the public regarding services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

It will visit the Norway Town Office from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 17. It will visit the Fryeburg Library from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 22.

Kay House Museum announces hours

OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society announced the summer hours of the Kay House Museum. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and by appointment calling 207-743-1654.

The Mary Wilder Kay house was given to the Town of Oxford to be used as a” repository of artifacts associated with the history of the Town of Oxford; the house and artifacts should be displayed in an open house setting for the enjoyment of the people of Oxford.”

The research room has more then 75 scrapbook, records of births, marriages and deaths, including town reports, hundreds of school pictures and other Oxford High School memorabilia and genealogies.

Many of the furnishes are as the Kay family lived. The barn is loaded with tools of yesteryear’s including a replica of a school room in the 1800s.

The use of the research room and the tours are free; donations are always appreciated. The Kay House Museum is located at 37 Pleasant St.

AUBURN — Stephens High Class of 1958 will be holding their monthly luncheon at noon on Wednesday, June 17, at the 99 Restaurant.

Gold LEAF Senior College Kick Off

FARMINGTON — Gold LEAF Senior College-UMF will introduce its summer term of classes and activities on Wednesday, June 17, at the North Dining Hall, Olsen Student Center, UMF.

The annual meeting will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. for members, with course descriptions to follow. It is free and open to the public. Gold LEAF is a member-run organization that promotes lifelong learning. Membership is open to anyone age 50 and over and spouse/partner regardless of age.
